Hinton, North Carolina Mission Trip
Thank you, FUMC for supporting us with your donations and prayers on the June 2011 Mission Trip to Hinton Rural Life Center, a mission agency of the United Methodist Church.
We were impressed with God’s people when we arrived at HRLC in Hayesville, NC, with your donations of saws, shovels, rakes, and many, many smaller tools. After many thanks from the management at HRLC, they blessed the tools with oil, then prayed over them. Off to a great start!
We were assigned to build a porch onto the home of Betty and David Cothern. David is a cancer patient. Along with Jill and Drew, our team leaders, we built a beautiful, miracle porch, and inscribed the words ―Let God lead your footsteps under the steps of the porch. We believe the porch will benefit the health of Mr. David.
The Busy Bees had a wonderful time with God’s people at HLRC. At morning worship each day, we recited the affirmation ― When I change, the world changes. How true!
